A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT

Greetings,

My name is Esther L. Sanni, and it is both an honor and a profound responsibility to serve as President of the St. Petersburg Branch of the NAACP (Branch #5130).

We are living in a defining moment—one that demands bold leadership, courageous action, and unwavering unity. Across our nation and within our own community, the fight for justice, equity, and opportunity is far from over. The NAACP remains at the forefront of that fight, and I firmly believe that real, lasting change begins right here—in our neighborhoods, our schools, our workplaces, our faith institutions, and our homes.

This is not a time for silence.
This is not a time for complacency.
This is a time to ENACT change, BUILD bridges, and UNITE our community.

As your President, I lead with purpose and serve with the people at the center of every decision. My commitment is clear, and my priorities are intentional:

• Re-energizing our Branch and reigniting hope across our community
   
• Re-claiming the dignity, respect, and voice our community deserves
   
• Re-cruiting bold, passionate, and visionary leaders to help carry this movement forward
   

Our focus areas are deliberate and action-driven:

• Driving measurable impact through meaningful collaboration and partnerships
   
• Strengthening NAACP membership to foster a true “One Community” mindset
   
• Advocating for real workforce housing solutions that support stability and economic mobility
   
• Partnering with our faith-based community to uplift families in crisis
   
• Supporting our schools in implementing evidence-based social-emotional learning
   
• Addressing the urgent literacy crisis—where only 27.1% of Black students are reading at grade level, despite an 81.3% graduation rate
   
• Partnering with local law enforcement to promote prevention over punishment and accountability rooted in trust
   

I lead with both passion and transparency. I am committed to showing up, speaking out, and standing shoulder to shoulder with this community. But let me be clear—this work cannot be done alone.

We need YOU.
